Mark Your Calendar for Our June 20 Golf Fundraiser (Soldier Memorial Field)

Save June 20 for a day on the golf course that goes far beyond friendly competition—it’s a chance to fuel faith-based reentry and practical support for men, women, and families in Southeast Minnesota through Next Chapter Reentry Project. This is your early heads-up that a community golf fundraiser is on the way, with more details (course, registration, sponsorship levels) coming soon.

This post is your save-the-date and first look at how you, your church, your workplace, or your friends can get involved. Final logistics are still being confirmed, but now is the perfect time to mark your calendar, start forming a team, and consider how you might help.

Mark Your Calendar

Here’s what we know now: on June 20, we’ll gather for a golf fundraiser benefiting Next Chapter Reentry Project at Soldier Memorial Field Golf Course, creating a fun, relaxed space to learn, connect, and invest in second chances. It will be a welcoming event for seasoned golfers, casual players, and supporters who simply want to see hope and stability grow for neighbors returning from incarceration.

Details such as the exact course/location, the full schedule (check-in and shotgun start), ticket and team pricing, sponsorship packages, and the online registration link are still being finalized and will be announced soon.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

At the heart of this event is a simple “why”: helping people returning from incarceration and their families build stable, hope-filled lives through gospel-centered mentoring and wraparound support. Reentry is hard; housing, employment, relationships, and mental and spiritual health can all feel fragile at the exact moment people most need stability and encouragement.

Too often, returning citizens are met with closed doors rather than open arms, and families shoulder the burden alone. A golf fundraiser might sound lighthearted, but it becomes a deeply meaningful day when churches, businesses, and neighbors come together to invest in restoration, relationships, and real-life support that keeps people moving forward.

Where the Funds Go

Every registration fee, sponsorship, and donation helps turn a round of golf into a long-term impact for men, women, kids, and families walking through reentry.

Men’s Reentry

The Men’s Discipleship Homes offer safe housing, daily structure, and a supportive community where men can rebuild their lives with accountability and grace. Residents share life through Bible study, shared meals, peer encouragement, and rhythms that help them grow spiritually, emotionally, and practically.

Your support helps cover meals, program materials, and the staffing and mentorship that keep these homes stable and healthy. It also helps meet basic needs so men can focus on recovery, growth, and next steps instead of wondering where they’ll sleep or what they’ll eat.

Women’s Reentry

The women’s home provides women with safety, stability, and a caring community at one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. It’s a place where women can breathe, heal, and take steps toward independence, with people walking alongside them rather than judging from a distance.

Donations help sustain housing costs, program operations, and essential needs that make The Lighthouse more than a shelter—it becomes a place of belonging, mentoring, and forward movement.

Family Reentry + Little Legacies and Legacy Risers (Kids & Caregivers)

Reentry doesn’t just affect one person; it touches kids, caregivers, and extended family. Next Chapter Reentry Project takes a family-centered approach, focusing on strengthening relationships, supporting children, and stabilizing the home environment so everyone has a better chance to thrive.

Little Legacies mentoring gives kids consistent adult support, fun activities, and a sense of community that tells them they’re seen and valued. Your gifts help fund family programming, mentoring resources, and practical supports that keep families connected and moving toward stability together.

Jail Outreach / Bible Study (Starting Before Release)

Jail outreach builds relationships and hope while people are still incarcerated, offering Bible study, conversation, and encouragement that can continue after release. Instead of starting from scratch on release day, participants step into a connection that has already been forming.

Your generosity helps provide materials, volunteer coordination, and program continuity so these relationships don’t end at the jail door. It ensures that people who say “yes” to a new chapter have a real community to walk with them.

Who Should Join Us

This golf fundraiser is designed to be accessible, welcoming, and meaningful for a wide range of people.

  • Golfers/teams: Bring friends, coworkers, or your small group, enjoy a day on the course, and support a cause that changes lives.
  • Businesses: Sponsor to gain positive community visibility while investing in second chances right here in Southeast Minnesota.
  • Churches/small groups: Treat this as a mission-in-action opportunity—serve together, sponsor a team, or help host the day.
  • Non-golfers: You can still make a big difference by donating, volunteering, or providing raffle and auction items.

Ways to Get Involved

Think of this as your menu of options—pick one, or combine a few that fit you best.

Play (Individuals + Teams)

Gather a foursome, register as an individual, and we’ll pair you with a team, or form a church or business team to play together. Final details about ticket pricing, what’s included (greens fees, cart, meal, and more), and the online registration link will be added as soon as they’re ready.

For now, start asking friends, coworkers, or your small group if they’d like to join you on June 20, and watch for registration to open so you can reserve your spot early.

Sponsor (Businesses + Churches + Community Champions)

Sponsorships are a powerful way for businesses, churches, and community partners to stand behind restoration in a visible way. We anticipate a range of sponsorship tiers—such as Title Sponsor, Lunch Sponsor, Hole Sponsor, Cart Sponsor, Prize Sponsor, and Swag Bag Sponsor—with options that fit different budgets.

Sponsors can expect benefits such as course signage, recognition during the event, mentions in event communications, and the intangible yet meaningful goodwill of investing in second chances. If you’re interested in sponsoring, you can email us to reserve a spot early and learn more about upcoming packages and benefits.

Volunteer (Day-of + Prep)

If you love serving behind the scenes, there will be plenty of roles to fill. Volunteer opportunities may include registration and check-in, hosting a hole, staffing the raffle or auction table, helping with set-up and tear-down, hospitality and greeting, or even photography and story capturing.

If volunteering sounds like a good fit, plan to reply or message us once the volunteer form is available, and we’ll help match you with a role that fits your gifts and availability.

Donate Items (Raffle, Silent Auction, Player Gifts)

Raffle and auction items add fun and fundraising power to the day. You can support by donating gift cards, local experiences, items from area businesses, golf gear, themed baskets, or player gifts that make participants feel appreciated.

When you’re ready to help with items, you can contact us to coordinate drop-off or pickup so everything is organized before event day. You can also explore general donation options and guidelines here.

Every new beginning takes community, and this golf fundraiser is one way we can come together so men, women, and families in Southeast Minnesota don’t have to walk their next chapter alone. Looking forward to seeing you on the course!
